"Police Academy 5: Assignment: Miami Beach” sees the wacky Police Academy gang, Mosses Hightower (Bubba Smith), Larvelle Jones (Michael Winslow), Eugene Tackleberry (David Graf), Laverne Hooks (Marion Ramsey), Thomas ‘House’ Conklin (Tab Thacker), and Debbie Callahan (Leslie Easterbrook) down in sunny Florida as Commandant Eric Lassard (George Gaynes) is off to receive an award and his mandatory retirement from the police force. Also present is the ever-sarcastic Captain Thaddeus Harris (G. W. Bailey) who is hot as ever for Lassard’s position. The crew is joined by Lassard’s nephew Nick Lassard (Matt McCoy) and Kate (Janet Jones) after Lassard is kidnapped. Not even the lure of limbo beach parties and Harris’ schemes will stop the intrepid troopers' uproarious rescue attempts.
