The story revolves around an astronomer Zane Zaminski who is doing research and one day he receives some signal which is quite unusual. He consider this signal from some alien however when he reports this matter to his senior Phil Gordian (Ron Silver) he rejects this funda and fires Zane from the job. But Zane is determined to prove this fact and for this mission he goes to Mexico to trace the signals which is quite similar to the one coming from the aliens. The story progresses as course of unusual incident happens which ensures Zane that his search is not wrong. He only fears whether he will be able to prove his findings to the world.
