The Earth is falling apart. The Highlander, Duncan Macleod (Adrian Paul) wanders a crumbling city remembering better times before he lost his one true love. Hopeless and forlorn, MacLeod join a band of immortals, including his inscrutable friend Methos (Peter Wingfield), and a normal human being The Watcher Joe Dawson (Jim Byrnes). They have discovered that the planet are moving unnaturally into alignment, a rather foreboding sign. Now, strange things are happening and the end of the world seems close at hand. Together the small band sets out on a quest to discover the source of the first Immortal and discover the secret of their immortality.
