The ozone layer is gone, condemning millions to terrible death, including the wife of Connor MacLeod (Christopher Lambert). Her dying request sets Connor on a course to save the Earth, and so he and Dr. Allan Neyman (Allan Rich) create a Shield to replace the ozone layer. The drawback: it produces permanent night. 25 years later, the darkness has destroyed humanity’s hope, and the Shield Corporation, headed by David Blake (John C. McGinley), is in total and nasty control. Eco-terrorist Louise Marcus (Virginia Madsen) discovers the ozone layer has reformed but the Corporation is hiding that fact to stay in power. Louise seeks out Connor, who is now aged and frail, and begs for his help, but Connor’s ancient enemy, General Katana (Michael Ironsides) sends Immortal thugs Corda (Pete Antico) and Reno (Peter Bucossi) to kill him. Connor beheads them both and absorbs their energy. He becomes young again and summons Ramirez (Sean Connery) back from death. General Katana comes to New York and joins forces with David Blake to destroy Connor and Ramirez, while Connor, Louise, and Ramirez attempt to take down the Shield, so humanity can again see the stars.
