Rosaleen (Sarah Patterson) dreams that she lives in a fairytale forest, together with her Father (David Warner) and her Mother (Tusse Silberg), as well as her sister named Alice (Georgia Slowe). Unfortunately, her sister is being pursued and eventually killed by a pack of wolves. While her parents mourned for her dead sister, her grandmother offers to take Rosaleen to her home under her care for the night. Once Rosaleen is back at her home, she meets a Boy (Shane Johnstone) who has an agenda in his mind in which she finds herself having to deal with his amorous advances. Later, on her way to her grandmother's cottage wearing a long red cape that her grandmother had knitted for her, she encounters the charming Huntsman (Micha Bergese). The mysterious stranger somehow manages to make her agree to a challenge where he will be able to find his way to the cottage before she does. In her deep sleep, she is about to find out the shockingly horror truth of who the real wolf is.
