50 years have passed and Merlin (Sam Neil) returns to Camelot to find it in a state of war because the Holy Grail has been stolen. Merlin must find a way to get the Grail back before barbarians win their campaign against Camelot. There are also unknown traitors to the kingdom that threaten the kingdom's survival. Merlin gets some help from Jack (John Reardon), a beggar who has some of his own magic. Jack meanwhile has a secret of his own. Whilst searching for the Grail Merlin does learn the truth about Jack and realizes The Lady of the Lake (Miranda Richardson) has been playing him a fool. While two sides battle for the land of Camelot, a magical cave is found and Jack must eventually choose between his mother or a wish of the Grail. Can Merlin and Jack find the Grail in time and rebuild Camelot?
