This movie stars Danny Glover as ‘Jake’ a traumatized Vietnam war veteran who has been hunkered down in a remote wooded cabin since he returned to the US from combat. Jake is struggling to deal with what he saw in combat is is particularly haunted by the deaths of several comrades under his command. One of Jake’s former soldiers visits and tells Jake that he (the soldier) was exposed to agent orange in Vietnam and is dying from lung cancer; he asks Jake to look after his daughter who was born to a Vietnamese woman. Jake is hesitant about taking on the young girl, knowing that he finds it hard to cope with his own life, but agrees out of loyalty to his friend and former comrade. Jake and the girl begin a voyage of discovery and realize that they both have to learn to come to terms with the past.
