When MacPherson (Val Kilmer) retires from his elite Marine Special Operations Unit, he decides to visit his good friend from combat. He arrives at the ranch located in the southwest United States, only to find that his friend has gone missing. When he challenges neighbors and the law of the tight-knit community, no one will admit to having any knowledge of the disappearance. A beautiful woman (Jennifer Esposito) plays into the picture and tries to help MacPherson sort out the mess. However, she is also the victim of an abusive past relationship and has her young daughter to think about. The question of whether MacPherson is able to use his military training to solve the mystery surrounding his friend will be solved before the movie’s end.
