The animated version of JRR Tolkien's classic masterpiece follows the adventures of hobbits Frodo and Sam as they attempt to return the "one ring" to Mordor and destroying it in the lava pits. A fellowship has pledged to protect Frodo and Sam on their perilous journey - comprised of wizards, dwarves, humans, and elves - from the evil of other factions that would do anything to claim the ring for themselves. The evil wizard Saruman with his army of orcs wants the power of the ring as much as Sauron and his nine ringwraiths. The fate of the entire Middle-Earth hangs in the balance!
