A rich businessman named Jack Robinson (Matthew Modine) does not make the time to do anything besides his work. But there is a curse on his family that threatens him. Nobody on his side of the family has ever lived beyond age thirty. Jack’s birthday is coming up. Before that, the residue of a very big skeleton (of a giant) appears in his life, along with a strange female, Ondine (Mia Sara), who says that she used to know the giant. Jack accompanies Ondine to another realm, in which secrets are then revealed including one about his forebear, Jack, and the beanstalk. Jack must try to save his own life and the giants’world by setting things right in the past, and then taking the goose that lays golden eggs to their proper home, along with a magical harp.
