“Hercules” follows the life and adventures of the mythological figure, Hercules (Paul Telfer) himself. However this version is not as close as the actual myth. Here he is the bastard son of Alcemene (Elizabeth Perkins) Upon Hercules’ rejection by his father, Amphitryon (Timothy Dlaton) he is banished to the mountains by both his parents along with his music teacher, Linus (Sean Astin) and encounters the nymph Deianeira (Leelee Sobieski). Along the way as well Hercules is tricked into killing his two sons and even almost commits suicide but is saved through timely intervention all this leads him eventually to King Eurystheus (Kristian Schmid) who instructs him to carry out 5 labors of repentance. These are the feats of strength and courage which make Hercules the legend he is destined to become.
