Swedish agent Carl Hamilton (Peter Stormare) and Finnish Åke Stålhandske (Mats Långbacka) are assigned the mission by the CIA to retrieve stolen nuclear missile in Russia. They, together with a few more veteran soldiers, parachute into tundra and eliminate almost all of the involved smugglers. But, Stålhandske allows one to escape... Further investigation shows that the nuclear missile found was only a diversion, and that another one has been successfully smuggled through Sweden. Hamilton will soon discover that mastermind behind these crimes is an ex-CIA agent Mike Hawkins (Mark Hamill). As plot unravels, KGB officers, PLO and Americans get involved, and Hamilton travels to Lybia. But, his girlfriend Tessie (Lena Olin) back in Sweden is in danger.
